The rubber and the glue

The Pope has a new book coming out, and he apparently had the following to say about proponents of gay marriage:

It is legitimate and necessary to ask oneself if this is not perhaps part of a new ideology of evil, perhaps more insidious and hidden, which attempts to pit human rights against the family and against man.
This is a most remarkable sentence. I wonder what he would have to say if proponents turned that sentence right around on him.

Wonder no more. You are a smart HARVARD man. The pope has been criticized before and is criticized today but he rarely ever responds to any of those comments. Should he? I don't think so. This is what the Pope believes. Yes, he wields a lot of power but what he states in his book he doesn't say has to be practiced so while many of those who will read the book will probably listen to it, I also believe many of those people will understand this is the Pope's beliefs and not neccasarily those of the Church.
